Steve Pierson

Executive Director

Steve Pierson is a nationally recognized grassroots leader who has spent the last decade organizing volunteers, building broad coalitions, and supporting frontline Democratic campaigns.

Steve is a former candidate for CA Assembly, and has deep relationships and knowledge of California and national politics. He has worked on multiple California Congressional campaigns including most recently as Director of Operations for George Whitesides for Congress. Steve first stepped into grassroots leadership having served as Southern California Field Director and National Training Director for Swing Left, and as co-founder of the Resistance Boot Camp. He is also a leader in the California Democratic Party as a four term Delegate, Executive Board Member, and Vice Chair of the CA Democratic Party’s Organizing Committee.

In addition to his campaign work, Steve spent 20 years working in the entertainment industry and leverages those relationships to engage celebrities and influencers in campaign work. He also hosts The Practivist Pod and is known nationwide as a trusted and inspiring voice who brings great experience in mobilizing communities and supporting Democratic campaigns.

Christian Esperias

Christian Esperias is a Democratic strategist and nonprofit executive whose expertise spans public affairs, advocacy, and electoral strategy. Over fifteen years he has built organizations, run independent expenditure campaigns, and advised major foundations on where to put their money.

His work spans c3, c4, PAC, and 527 structures. At SFER Action Network's 501(c)(4), he ran 22 independent expenditure campaigns across nine states at a 68 percent win rate. As Senior Political Director at Murmuration, he guided strategy for more than 50 campaigns a year across 20 states and advised major philanthropic foundations and nonprofit executives on their political investments. As a founding executive at Department of Angels, he built an advocacy and grantmaking operation in the days after the Los Angeles fires that helped unlock more than $200 million in accelerated payouts for survivors.

Christian has spent his career getting Democrats elected, building coalitions, and passing policy that makes for a more just society. He built his foundation as a community organizer for the Obama Campaign during the Great Recession, working in the communities hit hardest by the housing crisis, and went on to organize around several pillars of President Obama's agenda, from marriage equality to gun safety, climate, and education equity. He is a first generation American who is bilingual in English and Spanish and based in Los Angeles.
